Construction Lorries

These lorries, owned by WC Finlay, Ardelve, were used during the construction of the Dornie Bridge in the late 1930s, and are all Morris Commercial vehicles. The main contractor for the construction was William Tawse of Aberdeen, with local workers and vehicles subcontracted. The two vehicles with the chrome around the grills, are Morris C-type, and the one in the centre is a Morris T-type. There have been modifications to two of the lorries, likely to accommodate the needs during the bridge construction, but most definitely not in keeping with the manufacturers design.
