Fishing Fleet - Kyle of Lochalsh

In the 1960s and 1970s commercial fishing provided work for great numbers of people on the west coast. Kyle of Lochalsh was an important port, with the railway terminus giving daily access to ship the catch to the mainland, west and south. This photograph shows boats from both the west and east coast fisheries tied up at the railway pier in Kyle of Lochalsh.
