Inverness Royal Academy staff, about 1894, with George Bruce, Rector

The staff of Inverness Royal Academy probably photographed in early 1894, shortly before George Bruce was dismissed as Rector. According to the editors of the book Old Inverness in Pictures, the names of the staff are:

Back row: Miss Mary C. Mackenzie (assistant, art), Mr William Gossip (junior English, geography, Latin), Miss Catherine (Cosy) Fraser (pianoforte), M. Pierre Delavault (art), Mr Charles Greaves (English and commercial subjects), Mr W. Stuart Roddie (singing), Mr Wallace (assistant elementary).

Front row: Miss Grace Middleton (sewing/needlework), M. Edouard Roubaut (modern languages), Miss Brown (Lady Superintendent, junior classes), Mr George Bruce (Rector - classics and English), Mr Thomas Cockburn (classics and English), Miss Annie Clegg (assistant elementary department), Mr J. Wilson Reid (mathematics).

Assuming these names are correct, the date of 'about 1892', given in Old Inverness in Pictures is incorrect, as some of these staff were not in appointment in that year, but had been appointed by 1894. The next known staff photograph was taken probably fifteen years later, under Wm. J. Watson as Rector, and six of these staff were still in post at that time.
