Cromarty Lighthouse

Cromarty Lighthouse was designed by Robert Louis Stevenson's uncle, Alan Stevenson. It became operational in 1846 and is very similar in design to Fortrose (Chanonry) Lighthouse, also designed by Alan Stevenson. The white tower is 13m high and the square paned lantern has a domed top. The single-storey keeper's houses have Egyptian architectural features.

The lighthouse was decommissioned by the Northern Lighthouse Board in 2005 and went for sale on the open market in 2007
