This photograph, taken by Tim Riches, shows the Kessock suspension bridge carrying the A9 across the Moray Firth, between Inverness and the Black Isle. The cable-stayed bridge, totalling 1,056 metres in length and completed in 1982, was based on the design of the bridge crossing the Rhine at Düsseldorf.
