This photograph, taken by Tom Baker, shows the Clynelish Distillery, located in Brora, a small seaside village on the eastern coast of Sutherland. The distillery was originally constructed in 1819, for seven hundred and fifty pounds, by the future Duke of Sutherland to provide a ready market for the grain grown by his tenant farmers on improved coastal land.
The distillery primarily sells a fourteen year old malt and the whiskey's producers describe their malt as possessing a fruity, slightly smoky flavour.
