This photograph shows a car driving on a road between high snowy barriers in Slochd. Slochd is a mountain pass on the A9 between Inverness and Aviemore. At 405 metres it is the second highest point on the A9, second to the Pass of Drumochter (at 457 metres).

The car, an Austin 10, was registered to Alistair Grant of Reidhaven, Grantown-on-Spey, in April 1935.
