Spirit of Skye ferry

West Highland Seaways Ltd originally commissioned the vessel 'Spirit of Skye' as a passenger ferry to travel between Gairloch and Portree. The owners felt the boat was unsuitable for that route and she was moved to provide a service on Loch Ness between Dochgarroch and Fort Augustus. The service started on the 1st July 2005 and runs two return journeys a day allowing plenty of time for a day out in Inverness or Fort Augustus.
