This photograph shows two brothers and their sister. On the left is John Gordon, the child in the middle is Adam Gordon and their sister on the right is Catherine Gordon. John, Catherine and Adam were the children of Annie and Adam Gordon of Ord Cottage, Muir of Ord. The two brothers fought in World War II, John as a signalman and Adam as a flight officer in the Royal Air Force.

John was captured by Japanese soldiers while serving in Malaysia. He spent three years as a prisoner of war before being repatriated in 1945. He later became proprietor of the music shop 'The Record Rendezvous', at Church Street, Inverness. John's sister Catherine, ran a hairdressing business at Union Street, Inverness, during the 1960s
