Adam Gordon was born at Golspie in Sutherland. He joined the Seaforth Highlanders and fought in World War I. During the war years he married Annie Cameron and they later resided at Ord Cottage, Muir of Ord. Adam and Annie's younger son was John Gordon, proprietor of the music shop, 'The Record Rendezvous'. once located at Church Street in Inverness
