Hamish is the son of John Gordon, who was proprietor of the music shop 'The Record Rendezvous', located at Church Street, Inverness. The other two children's mother is Catherine Mackenzie, nee Gordon, sister of John. Catherine ran a hairdressing business at Union Street, Inverness, during the 1960s.
