Everyday objects from the Easter Ross seaboard. It was a common sight to see the fishing nets drying outside. This helped to preserve them for longer use. Sheds made out of half boats were also a common sight around the villages. Fishermen and their families repaired their own nets and sails. The illustrations also include various types of seaweed including bladder wrack and dulse.

These illustrations were taken from 'Down to the Sea' by Jessie MacDonald and Anne Gordon, illustrated by Johan Sutherland. The book was published in Dingwall by the Ross and Cromarty Heritage Society in 1989
