Dr Archibald Cameron of Lochiel (1707-1753) was the brother of Donald Cameron 'the Gentle' Lochiel. He was a loyal Jacobite supporter and fought for Bonnie Prince Charlie during the '45 Jacobite Rising. Dr Cameron gave up his profession and fled to France in 1746. He became a colonel in both the French and Spanish armies. Dr Cameron was tried, found guilty and executed in 1753.
