This bronze anvil was found in a cairn near the Kyle of Oykel in Sutherland around 1870. It would have been used for metalworking some time between 1200 BC and 750 BC.

The anvil was donated to the national Museum of Antiquities in Edinburgh (now the Museum of Scotland) by the Duke of Sutherland in 1891.
