The Reverend Adam Gunn of Durness

Adam Gunn was born on 15 August 1859 at Strathy in Sutherland. He studied first at St Andrews University (D.D., 1917) and later at New College, Edinburgh. He began preaching in 1888 and was appointed to the parish of Durness shortly after. In 1895 he married the daughter of the Rev. Donald Mackenzie of Bettyhill. He died in 1925.

Adam Gunn contributed to many Celtic magazines including 'The Celtic Monthly' and to the Transactions of the Inverness Gaelic Society.
