'A Generall mapp of the Isles of Great Brittainne, designed by Monsieur Sanson, Geographer to the French King, and rendered into English and illustrated by Ric. Blome by His Majestis especiall command'.

The map shows the whole of Britain including the islands and Ireland. The oceans are named 'Septentrional Ocean' (septentrional meaning northern), the 'Occidental Ocean' (occidental being western, the opposite of oriental), the 'Germain Ocean' (now the North Sea), 'The Irish Sea', and 'The British Sea'. All the oceans and seas are decorated with pictures of sea animals and sailing ships.
