Loch Einich

Loch Einich lies at the head of Gleann Einich, a U-shaped glacial valley in the Cairngorm mountains. The loch is surrounded by Munros (Scottish mountains or distinct peaks of 3000ft and over) and is overlooked by a plateau known as Am Moine Mhor. The loch is so remote that it can be accessed only along Gleann Einich.

This engraving, from a painting by George Garrard, can be found in 'A Sporting Tour of the Northern Parts of England and great part of the Highlands of Scotland', by Colonel T Thornton
