Bone implement

The bone implement was 5½inches in length and was made from a bird's wind bone. The bone was cut, obliquely, across one end and ground smooth.

Although the purpose of the object was unknown it was discovered that it could be used as a writing pen.

This illustration is from 'Proceedings of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, vol.10'
