Snuff horn

This elegant snuff horn is mounted in silver. There is an agate stone set in the lid and a silver band can be found around the upper part of the horn.

This horn was originally owned by Flora MacDonald, who helped Bonnie Prince Charlie escape from the Government troops after the Battle of Culloden.

Mr MacDonald of Monkstadt, Skye, (a descendant of Flora MacDonald) presented the horn to Lady MacDonald of Armadale Castle.
