Chambered Long Cairn

Ground plan of a chambered long cairn with 'horns' at Yarhouse, Caithness.

Chambered cairns with 'horns' are only found in Caithness.
Chambered cairns were neolithic tombs. They were built with stone and usually had a central chamber with one or more cells leading off it and an entrance passage.
