Presmuchrach Shepherd's Bothy

Looking toward the front elevation of Presmuchrach Bothy, now relocated to the Highland Folk Museum. It was originally built in the early 1900s at Presmuchrach near Dalwhinnie using approximately 65 recycled railway sleepers. The main room is furnished with a cast iron stove, a bed within the recess, a wooden kist and a table and chair. The second room is now used as a display area but would also have been a bedroom used, perhaps, by sheep shearers in the summer who would share the shepherd's accommodation at this time.
