This dun is unusual in that its shape is relatively square 12m by 12m (40ft). It is situated on the middle of an islet in Loch an Duin, on the island of Taransay. Mortar-less walls, 3m (10ft) thick, enclose an open space approximately 6m (20ft) by 3.5m (12ft). The approach to the dun is on stepping stones.
