Corner of Castle Street, Inverness

This drawing of the corner of Castle Street in Inverness is taken from 'Old Inverness' by Pierre Delavault (published in 1903).

The illustration depicts the corner of Castle Street, opposite the Town Hall, as it looked in 1867. The view is from the Exchange, looking along the High Street. Only one year later, in 1868, the Young Men's Christian Association erected a building on this corner but it was subsequently pulled down in 1955 and the drapery store of Alex Cameron & Co erected in its place.
