Loch Arkaig is approximately 19 km in length and is situated to the north-west of Fort William. Eilean Loch Airceig, a small island at the eastern end of Loch Arkaig, is the site of a ruined chapel. It is also the traditional burial ground of the Camerons of Locheil. On its shores are the remains of Government barracks built at the time of the Jacobite Rebellion.
