This postcard shows the village of Tongue situated on the east side of the Kyle of Tongue, in Sutherland. It is dominated by views of Castle Varrich and the mountain known as Ben Loyal, rising 2506 feet. The area became the seat of the clan Mackay in 1554, when the castle at Borve was destroyed by the Gordons of Sutherland
