Mrs E J Newell remembers different servicemen in Cromarty during World War 2.

Well, Cromarty started, the soldiers came, up to the Souters, and the huts in the Souters, and the airmen came. Airmen were in Laurel House, if you know where Laurel House is - opposite the Victoria Hall - and naval men were down in the Royal. And Cromarty was very busy. And then, later on, the Poles came, from Poland, because they didn't want to fight with, they wanted to fight against Hitler, and so, they came over and their huts built down on the Links there for the Poles.

This interview was recorded as part of a War Detectives project in 2005 at Cromarty Primary School.
