This postcard shows the Ratagan Youth Hostel and Loch Duich in Ross-shire. The hostel is situated close to Shiel Bridge and gives spectacular views of Eilean Donan Castle and the mountain peaks known as 'The Five Sisters'. The building was constructed in the 1800s as part of a plan to develop wool manufacturing and large-scale fishing within the nearby area. Today, the hostel is popular with both walkers and tourists
