Alix Allison remembers a community celebration at the end of World War 2.

They all, the school, all Ardross, the community, we got on buses and we went down to Nigg. We had a celebration down there. So that was arranged by the school and all the parents an' them went down to Nigg. An' then, oh aye, after the war we had, we opened up an' we had quite a lot of enjoyments. Mm-hmm. We used to have dances and concerts and what not - everything to make funds to get a hall here. After that, no. No, we had, no, we got a Nissan hut. The first hall we got was a Nissan hut that was used for the war.

This interview was recorded as part of a War Detectives project in 2005 at Ardross Primary School.
