The Urisks, pronounced Oorishks, are happy-go-lucky supernatural beings who don't feel the cold. They live in waterfalls in the Highlands of Scotland. They eat fish and love milk, which is the main reason for their attraction to their human neighbours. Normally everyone gets along fine but there is a major crisis when the Baby Urisk gets into the family house and the three angry grown-up Urisks, Peadragan, Peallaidh and Peadragan, come to his rescue.

This highly original and hand-crafted five-minute animation film was made in the cut-out technique and shot on 16mm film on a multi-plane rostrum.

BABY URISK was broadcast in Scotland as part of the Scottish Urisk Animation Series on Grampian and STV. It was also shown in the Animation category at the 17th Celtic Film and TV Festival in Wales. It was selected for the Annecy Animation Festival in 1995 and went on to be shown at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Cardiff International Animation Festival, Zagreb Animation Festival, Teruel Animation Festival, the Chicago Childrens' Animation Festival, The Atlantic Film Festival, (Nova Scotia), and Le Festival du film d'animation pour la Jeunesse (Bourg-en-Bresse).
