A cottage in the Ross-shire hills near Ullapool

This postcard shows a lonely stretch of road near Ullapool. The cottage is just after what is now a junction in the road at Drumrunie; the main road continues north to Lochinver, while the road to Achiltibuie branches off to the left. The small loch beside the road is Lochanan Dubha. The hill with the pointed summit is Sgurr an Fhidhleir, known in English as The Fiddler (2306 feet, 703 metres), while the mountain to its left is Ben Mor Coigach which rises to a height of 2437 feet (743 metres).
