A Small Scotch from Kyleakin, Skye

This collection of views of Kyleakin on Skye has the unfortunate central image of a young boy dressed in kilt, sporran and bonnet, a sight one is unlikely to see in Kyleakin or indeed any part of Skye. This 'music hall' play on Scotch typified the image of Scotland often portrayed to visitors, and presumably Valentine's, who produced this image, thought it would appeal to the postcard buyers of the day. The postcard is redeemed by the lovely scenery, featuring the village of Kyleakin, the ruins of Castle Moil, and a ship passing the lighthouse on Eilean Ban show this 'gateway' to Skye
