Kyleakin Pier and the Kyle of Lochalsh, Isle of Skye

The rocky outcrop on which the War Memorial can be seen, adds a little shelter for the houses overlooking the small harbour at Kyleakin. The Memorial was unveiled on the 15th April 1921 by Mrs MacInnes of the King's Arms Hotel in the village, whose only son was killed in France. In the background are the series of islands which are now the base for the Skye Bridge
