Kyleakin from Castle Moil, Skye

The little harbour of Kyleakin looks rather picturesque as seen here from the rocks below Castle Moil, or Maol. The road snakes its way from the jetty where the car ferry arrived from the mainland, through the village and along the shore towards Kyle House sheltered by the trees. This tacksman's house was built in 1798 for John MacKinnon. The War Memorial constructed in 1921 stands on the rocky knoll overlooking the harbour on one side and Kyle Akin on the other
