The Scavaig River leaves Loch Coruisk at its southern end, to cascade into Loch Scavaig. Coruisk, one of the most famous corries in Britain, is dramatically set within the similarly famous Cuillin hills of Skye. The jagged peaks of the Cuillin ridge in the background appear to have been smoothed out in this postcard view. However the same image in the same J.B. White series (QZP40_CARD_2292) shows the peaks shrouded in mist, and it seems that an over-diligent artist has "tidied up" the Cuillin
