Loch Slapin and Blaven, Isle of Skye

When Loch Slapin comes into view on the Broadford - Elgol road, it presents a magnificent sight on a lovely summer day, with Blà Bheinn rising over three thousand feet above. As pictured here, it's a perfect day to climb the hill with the reward being an unsurpassed view of the Cuillin ridge, the small isles and the mainland to both north and south. Not always as inviting as this view, fierce gales and snow can whip Loch Slapin to a froth, and Blà Bheinn best left for a better day
