Loch Fada and The Storr Rock, Skye

The Storr is a mass of imposing rock rising to a height of 719m (2,358ft). Unusually, this black and white postcard does not feature the famous pinnacle known as The Old Man of Storr, formed by a landslip. The Storr is situated a few miles north of Portree on the eastern side of Skye, and forms a prominent backdrop to the lochs in the foreground. Loch Fada, with Loch Leathan behind, are stocked with fish by the Skye Angling Association who also hire boats for the use of fishermen. The water from the lochs is utilised to provide electric power, via the power station at the foot of the cliffs on the sea shore
