Sgurr-na-Gillean, Isle of Skye

With a good depth of snow in the gullies below the Sgurr nan Gillean ridge, and the mist and rain blowing in sheets across the open moorland, the cold and dampness of this day can be almost felt. While making not necessarily the most picturesque of postcards, it does capture what the weather is often like. Undeterred by snow, wind and rain, the Cuillin attracts climbers and walkers in all seasons, with many setting off from near Sligachan, where this photograph was taken
