Sgurr-nan-Gillean, Isle of Skye

With a light dusting of snow on the ridge reflected in the loch, it looks cold and still when this photograph was taken. Likely a perfect day for climbers and walkers heading to the ridge with the crispness of autumn and no midges as one trudged through the heather and moorland en route. One of the most photographed views, the unmistakable ridge and sharp peak of Sgurr nan Gillean rises above Sligachan.

This card was sent from the Royal Hotel, Portree on the 18 June 1934, to A.L. Hales staying at the North British Hotel, Edinburgh
