Skirinish, also Skerinish or Skurinish, lies on the peninsula between the south end of Loch Snizort Beag and Loch Eyre, in Skye. The estate was a Macdonald tack, with the original Skirinish House occupied since at least the early 18th century. The current house dates from around 1840, with outbuildings added when Skirinish was one of the largest farms on Skye. The kilted figure in the background is more likely to be the laird, than the cattleman
