A good wheat crop is seen drying on the crofting land in Glenbrittle, under the massive range of the Cuillin. Glenbrittle is reached by travelling a single track road from Carbost, with spectacular views of the mountains, and at the road end, a beautiful sandy beach. Near the beach is a campsite which in summer is filled with tents and eager climbers and walkers ready to tackle the hills. Glenbrittle in the 1930s, had Skye's first airstrip, with the inaugural passenger flight on 5th December 1935
