Nairn Golf Course, overlooking Moray Firth

This postcard shows a view over Nairn golf course to the Moray Firth and the Black Isle. Nairn Golf Club was established in 1887 on the western edge of the town. The clubhouse can be seen near the shore on the right of the photograph. The course was later extended by Archie Simpson, 'Old' Tom Morris and James Braid and over the years has hosted many major amateur and professional events, including the Walker Cup in 1999. In 1899 a second golf club, Nairn Dunbar Golf Club, was founded on land to the east of the River Nairn.
