Salmon Fishing on the Black Water

This image shows a group of men fishing for salmon on the Blackwater, one of the tributaries of the River Conon in Ross-shire.

The Black Water, which is well known for trout and salmon fishing, continues to Loch Garve and then on to join the Conon. In the Old Statistical Account (1791-99) it is referred to as the River Rasay.
