This postcard is titled 'The Winding Great North Road at Slochd'. The Slochd is located on what is now the A9 road, to the northwest of Carrbridge. The Slochd Pass is crossed by both the road and the railway at a height of 405m (1328ft) above sea level. It is the second highest point on the road between Perth and Inverness.
