The Tartan Hotel, Kinlochleven

This photograph shows the Tartan Hotel in Kinlochleven, an area located on the eastern end of the sea-loch, Loch Leven. Situated seven miles east of Glencoe in one of the most ruggedly beautiful regions of the Scottish west coast, Kinlochleven originates from Gaelic 'Ceann Loch Liobhan', and translates as head of Loch Leven. The region possessed a large aluminium factory, the main employer in the region beginning in the late nineteenth century.
