This photograph shows a view of Ben Wyvis from Balvaird in the Muir of Ord, Inverness-shire. One of the tallest mountains in Easter Ross, it forms an undulating ridge, composed of Moine pelitic gneiss, running roughly north-south for approximately 5 km. Its highest summit is Glas Leathad Mòr at 1046m. The climb, beginning just northwest of Dingwall, is long but not taxing for anyone of reasonable fitness.
