This photograph shows a view of the Lovat Bridge crossing the River Beauly at Cruivend in Beauly, Inverness-shire. The river was first bridged in 1814 under the supervision of Thomas Telford, the celebrated Scottish engineer. It formed a part of the A9, the main road north, until the construction of the Kessock Bridge in 1982.

Five small rowing boats can be seen tied up in the foreground.
