A photograph of ruined housing at Reiff, from the collection of I. F. Grant depicting rural life in the Highlands and Islands in the early twentieth century. Dr Grant took many of the photographs herself and also collected the work of other photographers.

The crofting township of Reiff is at the northern end of the Coigach peninsula in Wester Ross. It overlooks Reiff Bay with views to the Summer Isles to the south and out to the Western Isles to the west. There are cliffs at Reiff which are well known by both experienced and novice rock climbers. Coigach is a large peninsula, north of Loch Broom, which ends at Rubha Coigeach. The main settlement on the peninsula is Achiltibuie
