Unveiling of Fortrose & Rosemarkie War Memorial

A large crowd witness the unveiling of the Fortrose and Rosemarkie War Memorial in Fortrose, 1922. The memorial, a stone-built entranceway to Fortrose Cathedral, can be seen in the centre of the picture. Inside the memorial a British flag can be seen covering the plaque prior to its unveiling.

The memorial reads, "Unto the Glory of God and in Loving Memory of the Men of this Parish who Gave their Lives for their Country in the Great War, 1914-1919". Thirty-three names are listed on the memorial.

Following World War II another plaque was added to the memorial.
