The man on the left is the Rev. David Stoddart who was a Minister in Newtonmore. In the middle is David "Tarzan" Ritchie, a bona fide legend of the game who played for Newtonmore from the 1960s to the 1980s. On the right is Alan Devereaux, then Chairman of the Scottish Tourist Board.

The Camanachd Cup is the premier tournament in the sport of shinty. It was first played in 1896.
