Legend - Temporary Sculpture Lochmaddy installation

Legend - Temporary sculpture and audio installation. 'Legend' is a temporary public artwork, funded by the National Lottery and organised by Independent Public Arts. The brief at the outset of the competition was for a cross-media work to be created for a non-arts venue. 'Legend' incorporates sound in a linear stainless steel sculpture that was installed on four hillsides and shorelines across the Highlands and Islands over a period of 8 months in 1998. 'Legend' is a linear sculpture with sound that focuses on the landscape of the Highlands and Islands, the legends that have grown from it and the language in which they have found expression
